Hi! My name is Marty Burns,I grew up outside of Gallup, New Mexico and relocated to Chicago in 2001 to attend The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I hold a B.F.A. with an emphasis in Art History, Theory and Criticism and an M.F.A. in Fiber and Material Studies, both from the School. In 2009, I received the Artists Fellowship Award from the Illinois Arts Council. I am a participant in the BOLT studio residency program until June 2012 at the Chicago Artists' Coalition with a solo show in the BOLT project space to follow opening July 6, 2012. I am also a teaching artist at the Hyde Park Art Center, Marwen, CAPE and Intuit.
